"2. Erasmus Staff Week" Organized Between 8-12 May

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) International Relations Coordination Office organized the “2nd Erasmus Staff Week” event with 48 participants from 3 continents, 18 countries, and 22 different universities at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel.

At the opening meeting of the event held between May 8-12, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş ACAR, Rector Advisor Dr. Lecturer Member Mustafa Kılınç, MAKÜ International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Ali Karakaş, International Relations Coordination Office staff and MAKÜ academics, along with 48 participants from 22 different universities attended.

At the opening meeting of the event attended by academics from Albania, Bulgaria, Algeria, Iraq, Spain, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Hungary, Macedonia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Thailand, Oman, Greece, and Turkey, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş ACAR and International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Ali Karakaş gave the opening speeches. Rector Korkmaz, who expressed his pleasure in hosting the participants at MAKÜ, stated that such events are important for MAKÜ and contribute to internationalization.

After the speeches, Acting Rector Acar presented gifts to the participants. Then, each participant made presentations introducing both their own country and their own universities. During the 5-day event, tours were organized to MAKÜ campus, Burdur city, Salda Lake, Pamukkale, Antalya, Sagalassos Ancient City, and Burdur museum, and the flavors of our city were introduced. On the last day of the event, at the "International Education Fair" held at Avşar Han, the stands opened by the participating universities were visited by our university students to get information. With the organized event, it is aimed to contribute to the academic, social, and cultural internationalization of our university.
